Hi Gary,

Sorry that it's taking a little longer than expected. We're actually taking a look at the best way to collect everyone's feedback. There are a few really interesting ways we can go about it. We might be able to put something in place to track what you'd like to see and keep you up-to-date on what's happening with the site.

This isn't to say we're sitting around waiting. We're hard at work on a few really exciting things for MSWatch. Stay tuned!

Thanks,

Justin

Hi there Justin, and thanks for the post.....right off the top of my head I can list a few things that I would like to see.....

Live Chat capabilities....this would be a great way to ask questions, actaully communicate one on one with people - and have some fun along the way....Could set up a chat night, advertise it, and then do it - where everyone could come in and chat, and get to know and talk to people on a whole different level...

Once Live Chat was set up, could have guest speakers appear at selected dates and times to discuss things like neutrician, general MS questions/copaxone questions from a Shared Solutions nurse....

Could develope a list of qulified experts who would be willing to answer a variety of questions relating to MS....could have it so you could "ask and expert" and get the info right from the horses mouth, so to speak...

Could have some additional general information sectioins such as "Did you Know" or Test your Knowledge or Famous Faces of MS

Im sure that there are more, but thats just what I had off the top of the noggin'

Im sure that some others will jump in here to give you their ideas as to what they would like to see on this website...

Thanks for looking into this, and have a great day
Gary

Hi everyone,

Don't worry, we're most definitely paying attention and listening to all of you!

Thanks, Michael1, for kicking off this discussion. It's an important one to have.

We appreciate everyone's feedback on the login question ('how are you feeling'). Webwoman's comment above is right, in that we're trying to reflect a positive attitude. It's also a way for the website to actually show how the MSWatch community is feeling. You may not have noticed, but when the mood of community changes, the colours of the website change with it. (It's a little know but cool feature of the site). What would you see as an improvement?

The chat feature is one that we're definitely aware of. You've made it clear that it's something you want to see. There are a lot of legal and privacy issues that surround a feature like that though, so just to let you know that it's under consideration.

Michael1 - good call on the site remembering your login information. we'll see what we can do.

Korgary - you mentioned that you'd like to see different topics on the forum. What would you like to see?

We're going to send out an email soon asking everyone for their ideas and feedback. We have some big plans for 2010 but, of course, they can't happen without you.

In the meantime, keep posting all of your ideas, we're paying attention. You can also send us an email at info@mswatch.ca.

Thanks!

Justin

I certainly agree with you, when I first started this thread I was hoping someone, anyone from MS watch would see the results and realize how useless this information was. It would certainly be more useful for me at least if they had a simple box you could check off where the username and password could be remembered instead of having to type them in every time.

It certainly appears as if very little if any monitoring takes place.
If I remember correctly the person who was responsible for the site was named Justin. Spoke to him a few times when they were getting the site ready sent a few suggestions and never heard anything.

Good luck
Michael

Hi there, this just seems to go around in circles, I woudl really liket o see some real changes to this web site....there are so many nice people here, all of who have grat informaton to pass on.....but the structure and the content of the site is a bit on the boring side, I would really like to see it beefed up, inclduing a chat link so that we could all chat one on one in live time.....

Im not sure how to get the ball rolling on this, who would I contact to work with to see if we could get this thing up and runnig and approved?????

I don't as a rule Michael. I find that if I were to elaborate on my bodies daily decline, I'd need my own web-site. Enough said on that note. If I were to go into detail the MS afflicted people using this site would probably not bother anymore. The truth is.....by subjecting ourselves to these mundane questions at log-on is merely attributing how well we can falsify our well being. I don't so I won't! That should put a little clarity to the matter, ya think?

Keep smiling.

Rick

Hello,
I'm sorry it took so long for me to see your post but I might have some useful information for you regarding doctors. Of course the best source for information would be your friends family etc. however if this doesn't suffice you might want to take a look at the following website.

http://www.ratemds.com/

you will be surprised at how many doctors and specialists you will find on this site and how they are rated by their patients and really you have a hard time finding better feedback than from their patients. Give it a try I know I was surprised.

Take care
Michael

Wow!!! I remember when this new site was in beta and I came on to give opinion and I wrote an article about having live chat here and I backed off because in all the time the other site was up, no chat. I guess they are worried about legalities, privacy etc., but they could have both and they know it. I know that when Shared Solutions puts us in touch with each other via the telephone, there is a huge amount of privacy involved right? They are worried and trying to be sensitive, they are wrong in this instance, but time will tell. I would love a live chat space and I think they need to do it, I will pray lol.

As for the questions upon log in, I have answered them, but I don't all the time. I agree that they ask because they are trying to help us feel some positive thoughts, maybe change our mindset, after all, a whole lot about this illness has to do with attitude doesn't it? That's life folks, it's not necessarily about the cross you bear, it's about how you handle the weight. One cannot always be positive, but my, my, my, it sure does help when you can be :)
